Commercial Planters at Brookfield Place

Published By Ibrahim Updated
Commercial Planters – Brookfield

Large Bell Planters gave a commercial retailer at Brookfield Place in Western Australia a green storefront and a defined alfresco area, without structural work to the building. Generous curved shapes and dense foliage soften the hard concrete surfaces around them and mark out where the store’s dining and seating zone begins.

Defining the alfresco commercial frontage

The Large Bell Planters set the boundary between the public pedestrian thoroughfare and the dedicated store seating area. Their curved bell silhouette carries enough architectural weight and scale to hold its own against the modern minimalist concrete architecture of Brookfield Place. Positioned as a run, they direct foot traffic around the seating rather than through it, and give patrons a comfortable, semi-enclosed alfresco setting.

Planting for height, scale and tropical character

The planters were paired with large exotic plants for vertical foliage, varied leaf texture and dense greenery. Oversized Bell Planters and tropical planting together break up the hardscape and put greenery at eye level in the centre of a busy urban business precinct.
