TOV150H Trough Planter

A 150 cm planting line in one piece — that is the reason most people choose the TOV150H over a row of pots. It measures 150x37x60H and is moulded in polystone fibreglass composite, so it holds a mineral surface and straight edges at a weight two people can carry between them. We finish each one to order in your choice of Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen colours, which suits boundary runs, courtyard edges and forecourt planting where several troughs need to read as one element rather than a row of separate containers.

About TOV150H Trough Planter

Long troughs get heavy quickly, and that is where the composite earns its keep. The TOV150H is moulded from a matrix of polystone and fibreglass — mineral filler for the dense, slightly cool feel of stone, reinforcing fibre for the rigidity — so a 150 cm vessel stays inside two-person lifting range and still reads as masonry once it is planted and sitting against a wall. It belongs to our trough planters collection, where it does the job a line of individual pots cannot: one unbroken run, one surface, no gaps between containers to weed.

At 150x37x60H — 37 cm front to back and 60 cm high — the cavity is sized for continuous planting rather than a single specimen: border runs, courtyard perimeters, the open edge of an entertaining area where you want screening but not a built wall. Clumping grasses, westringia, rosemary and dwarf lilly pilly all hold their shape at this depth, and the pale composite wall sits more kindly against roots through a Perth summer than dark metal does. Each unit is finished in store in your specified Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen colourway, so the trough can be matched to existing render, fence stain or decking instead of fighting it.

The same profile is listed under our TOV lightweight range in Porter's Black Iron — see the Divider Trough Long if that colour suits the job better. Work out how much potting mix you need before you order, because a run this long takes more than most people expect; the potting mix calculator will give you the figure. Colour chips and finished samples sit in our Malaga showroom if you would rather judge the sheen level in daylight, and Perth deliveries go out from there.

Common questions

How big is it, and how deep can I plant?

150x37x60H — 150 cm of planting line, 37 cm front to back, 60 cm tall. It is built as a run rather than a feature pot, so it works best where you want one unbroken border instead of spaced containers.

What is polystone fibreglass composite?

Mineral filler bound with reinforcing fibres. The filler gives the wall its stone-like density and surface; the fibre keeps the long sides from bowing outward, and does it without the weight of solid precast.

Can it be painted to match my render?

Yes. We finish to order in your selection of Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen exterior colours, so you can nominate the same colour as the render, the fence or the window frames and we will match it. Colour chips are in the Malaga showroom if you want to see the sheen in daylight.

Will I need machinery to get it into position?

No. The composite weighs far less than solid precast masonry of the same size, so two people can carry the empty trough and set it down where it needs to sit. Add the drainage gravel and potting mix once it is in place, not before.
