About U Shape
Curved walls, not flat sides. That one decision is why this planter gets specified where a square container would sit too heavily — office forecourts, shopping precincts, hospitality courtyards and contemporary homes. Poly fibreglass composite carries the shape without the mass of concrete, so you get the planting volume without the handling weight that would usually come with it. Two people can walk it into position before it is filled.
It measures 110 x 60H cm. The width gives you a wide planting surface, and the footprint that comes with it resists tipping in open, unsheltered positions — which is where most of these end up. Poly fibreglass takes Perth summers and coastal wind without the cracking or fretting you get from cast products, and the colour holds. Standard finishes are textured grey and earthy rust, both meant to sit against off-form concrete or natural timber. Where a corporate colour has to be matched exactly, we paint to any colour in the Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen range at our Malaga workshop.

Common questions
What plants suit a planter this wide?
The mouth is broad and the lip curves, so a massed planting reads better than a single specimen. Ornamental grasses planted in a block, succulents, or mounding shrubs such as dwarf pittosporum all sit well in it. For a layered display, run upright foliage through the centre and let dichondra or ivy trail over the curved lip.

How should the finish be cleaned?
The textured grey and rust surfaces shed dust readily, and a soft cloth with warm water and mild detergent lifts splash marks and road film. Be gentler with Dulux Weathershield Low Sheen paintwork: scouring pads, caustic washes and pressure sprayers will burnish or cut a low sheen coating, and the marks show.
