About Low Bowl with Spillway Planter

A spillway notch is moulded straight into the rim, and that is the point of this bowl: water pumped into the dish leaves over one edge as a sheet, not a trickle. At 1500 by 400 mm there is still soil volume to plant into, so it can run as a fountain tier spilling to a pond, pool or sub-surface reservoir, or as a combination aquatic planter. The body is cast in Polystone Resin and sits with the rest of our oversize planters collection.

Constant water contact is what finishes off most containers. Mineral-blended Polystone Resin holds its structure under permanent wetting and full outdoor UV, and it does it without the weight of cast stone at the same 1500 mm diameter. Four finishes come off the showroom floor — Cement Grey, Smoothe Grey, Brown Terrazzo and Smoothe Black — with High Gloss and Timber Look made to order.

Settle the pump and the overflow path before you order, because the spill rate you want decides both. We can talk the plumbing through and stand finish swatches against a display unit at the Malaga showroom, or have a look at the rest of the water features range.

Common questions

What size is the Low Bowl with Spillway?

1500 mm in diameter by 400 mm high (1500 x 400 mm). The width-to-height ratio is what you notice on site — it reads as a wide disc of water sitting low in the garden rather than a bowl raised up on a plinth.

Which finishes can I choose from?

Cement Grey, Smoothe Grey, Brown Terrazzo and Smoothe Black are the standard showroom finishes. High Gloss and Timber Look are manufactured on special order, which is the route to take if you are matching an existing landscape scheme.

How does the spillway work in a pool or pond system?

The moulded notch carries recirculated water over the rim in a uniform sheet, so it discharges cleanly into a lower swimming pool, a reflective pond, or a below-ground pebble reservoir.

Why Polystone Resin for a container that holds water?

Crushed mineral aggregate bound in water-resistant resin gives a dense, watertight wall that resists structural degradation and algae penetration. It also weighs far less than precast concrete, which matters once a 1500 mm bowl has to be lifted into position.

What separates this from the standard planting Low Bowl?

Same 1500 x 400 mm profile. The Large Low Bowl Planter is drilled for drainage and comes in three finishes as a straight planting pot, while this one carries the spillway lip for active water flow.
