About Diamond Water Feature
Water leaves this fountain over a contoured rim, not a spout. The curve carries it across the lip and down the outer sides as a single even sheet, which is where the soft trickle comes from and why so little water throws clear of the base. The body measures 56W x 115H, turned in high-fired clay and sealed on the outside so the shell stays watertight.
How it gets plumbed depends on the site. With the optional plinth the feature sits inside an existing garden pond, raised clear of the operating water level so the sheet drops straight back into the pond and its eco-system. Bought as a self-contained unit, it arrives with the 670 mm round basin, which can be set into the ground flush with surrounding paving or left above ground on a patio. If you are still weighing up reservoir options or delivery to a Perth site, contact us about a product or project — or view the water features and fountains collection to see what else works on the same principle.
Common questions
What does the 670 mm basin need to sit on above ground?
Concrete pavers, a poured concrete pad, or level timber decking — anything solid that will not settle under it. Then get it level. Water spilling over a curved top finds the low side of an out-of-level base and runs down one edge instead of sheeting around all of them.
Can it go into a pond I already have?
Yes, using the optional plinth. It lifts the base of the high-fired clay body above the pond's operating water level, so water pumped to the curved top sheets down the sides and falls straight back into the pond, incorporating into the existing pond eco-system.
Does it splash in an open courtyard?
Barely, in a sheltered spot — the water clings to the clay wall the whole way down rather than throwing off it. Open coastal wind is the variable. Fit an inline valve on the pump hose and you can wind the flow rate back until the sheet holds to the wall again.
Upkeep on the sealed clay surface?
Little to it. A soft cloth and fresh water lifts dust and the pale mineral film tap water leaves on the outside seal; keep abrasive pads away from it, since that seal is what holds the shell watertight. Through summer, look into the 670 mm reservoir weekly and top it up so the submersible pump stays fully covered.
