About Sphere Balls
Pick one up and the weight gives the game away. Sphere Balls are cast in Polystone Resin with fine terrazzo mineral flecks worked through the surface, so from a metre away they read as stone and feel cool to the hand, but a 36 cm sphere can be carried out to the garden and repositioned by one person as often as you like.
Three finishes: White Terrazzo, Charcoal Black Terrazzo and Grey Terrazzo. The speckle does the work. Against pavers, timber decking, washed gravel or dark foliage the mineral flecks catch light the way honed stone does, and the charcoal holds its outline best when it sits among green planting.
Sizes run 17 cm, 25 cm and 36 cm. A single 25 cm sphere holds an alfresco table on its own; all three together, grouped loosely on mulch, along a pond margin or under a specimen tree, give you a focal point at ground level that never needs watering. Common questions
Will they roll or shift in a strong coastal wind?
They are hollow, so they need something to sit into. In a garden bed, press the bottom curve down into river pebbles, coarse mulch or potting mix until it beds in and it will stay put. On paving there is nothing to bed into, so use a discreet dab of exterior silicone or an outdoor rubber ring under the base.
Grouping all three sizes together — what works?
Set one 17 cm, one 25 cm and one 36 cm sphere in a loose triangle among groundcovers, river stones or at the foot of a tall planter. Let them overlap slightly rather than lining them up evenly — the overlap reads as depth and pulls the eye down to ground level.
Can they sit near a pond or fountain?
Yes. Polystone Resin is water-resistant, so the spheres cope with the splash zone at a pond edge, the surround of a pebble fountain, or a dry riverbed that fills after rain.
Does the terrazzo finish fade in full sun?
No. The resin and the mineral chips both hold up under Perth sun and neither draws in moisture, so the contrast between fleck and background stays where it started and the surface keeps its smoothness season after season.
