Urns Converted

A conversion turns an urn you already like into a fountain. Our workshop fits an internal riser and recirculating plumbing into the vessel, then sets it up either as a self-contained above-ground bowl or flush into a below-ground pebble sump. The pump carries a 2-year manufacturer warranty, and a warm-white submersible LED kit is available if you want the water lit after dark.

About Urns Converted

Every conversion starts with the vessel, not the plumbing. Choose an urn profile you want to live with and we build the recirculating system behind it. What you gain is movement and sound: enough water over the lip to cover suburban traffic noise, and a cooler feel in a sheltered alfresco corner.

There are two ways to set one up, and your paving usually decides which. An above-ground basin installation seats the urn centrally in an open pond bowl or trough reservoir, so the whole feature sits on existing pavers, timber decking or a concrete slab with no excavation. A below-ground sump buries the pump and reservoir beneath the garden or lawn under a heavy-duty sump grating, and the urn rises from a bed of decorative river stones, so the water reads as though it runs straight into the ground. Matching vessels sit in our urns collection, and the finished systems in our water features range.

Each package includes a submersible water pump with a 2-year manufacturer warranty. Flow is dialled in at an inline restrictor valve, which is what gives you an even sheet over the lip instead of a splash you can hear from inside the house. For night-time ambience, an optional submersible warm-white LED ring mounts at the water spout and lights the ripples from below.

We keep operational water feature displays running in the Malaga showroom, and after eighteen years of these conversations I can tell you that standing next to one for two minutes settles the question of water noise faster than any description. Bring the urn profile you have in mind and the surface it has to sit on. Contact us about a product or project to confirm custom conversion specifications and Perth delivery.

Above-ground basin or below-ground sump — which suits my site?

An above-ground basin holds the water reservoir in a visible bowl standing on your paving or decking, so nothing gets dug up. A below-ground installation sinks the reservoir sump beneath ground level, covers it with mesh and decorative pebbles and finishes flush, so the water looks as though it vanishes into the stone bed.

Which pump comes with the conversion, and how long is it covered?

A dedicated submersible recirculating pump, matched to the water volume and lift height of the urn you choose. It is backed by a 2-year manufacturer warranty for continuous operation.

Where does the optional LED sit, and how is it powered?

The fixture is fully submersible and low-voltage, positioned at the urn’s bubbling water outlet. Its cable runs down through the internal plumbing line to a weatherproof low-voltage power supply, which plugs into a standard outdoor power point.

What upkeep does the water need through a Perth summer?

Top the level up weekly once the heat arrives, because evaporation is steady here. Keep the pump submerged at all times, and sit it inside a coarse mesh bag so garden leaves and windblown debris stay out of the impeller. An eco-friendly water treatment or algaecide keeps the water clear.

Can an urn from the showroom floor be converted?

Many of our solid fibreglass, poly resin and glazed urn designs can be, and the work is done by our own workshop team. Talk to our Malaga staff about the particular urn, the core drilling it needs and how the plumbing would run.
