Oblong 6020

Long and low, where a round pot would leave dead space at both ends. The Oblong 6020 is a Light Stone container with a smooth polished mineral surface, proportioned for residential gardens, courtyards and patio settings. The bed runs the length of the trough, so kitchen herbs, seasonal blooms or one compact ornamental shrub all sit in it comfortably.

About Oblong 6020

A trough earns its place along a line rather than in the middle of one. The Oblong 6020 runs elongated and shallow, so it follows the edge of a paved area, a bench or a table centre instead of interrupting it. It comes from our Light Stone planters collection, and the smooth polished mineral exterior has the grain and cool touch of cut stone under the hand.

Kitchen herbs are the obvious use, and the length lets you run several together in one bed with room between them. Seasonal annuals, low perennials, succulents and dwarf shrubs all take to it as well. Light Stone composite is built to stay outside through summer heat and winter rain, so the planter can hold its position year round without being shifted under cover.

If you are planning a repeated run of troughs along a wall or a long table, see one in the flesh first and work the spacing out on paper before you order. We keep Light Stone models on the floor at the Malaga showroom — bring your measurements and we will go through the layout with you.

Is the surface smooth or textured?

Smooth. The polished light stone finish carries right around the elongated oblong body, which keeps the eye on the foliage rather than the container. Dust settles on the long flat faces more than anywhere else; a damp cloth and a dry wipe afterwards is all it asks, since polished mineral will show water marks if hard water is left to dry on it.

Which material is the 6020 made from?

Light Stone composite, a mineral mix with the density and appearance of stone and the durability to stay outdoors long term.

What suits the planting bed best?

The bed is long rather than deep, which is why it reads as a herb trough first: culinary herb combinations, colourful seasonal annuals, compact perennial flowers, succulents, or a single dwarf landscape shrub.

Where does an oblong sit best around furniture and built structures?

Along things, not in front of them. Outdoor dining tables, retaining wall capstones and patio borders all give it a line to follow, and the low elongated profile keeps sightlines open across the table or over the wall in both modern and traditional gardens.

Can I see one in Perth before I order?

Yes. The Oblong 6020 and the wider Light Stone range are kept at our Malaga showroom, where the team will help you pair containers and settle on spacing.
